Over the last few months I’ve been able to give my health some thought. I recently began CrossFit Fundamentals. A new location opened up in my community. I have always been attracted to CrossFit. It has amazing results for those who have done it. I get so encouraged when I see people doing it in YouTube videos and in person who CAN do it well. My first class was one on one with a trainer and I learned a lot. I learned how to properly do a push-up, squat, and sit-up. These were moves I’ve been doing wrong for a long time. Here is my CrossFit Day ONE Photo!
I’m excited to be doing this however, the soreness level was awful. I used to run regularly and I used to be far more active and never had this pain even after my first half marathon. I couldn’t make it up the stairs in my home. Sitting and standing brought out small yelps of pain. I’ve written to my trainer to ask him what I should do going forward. A lot of my support network isn’t in favor of CrossFit for THIS reason. They say they push people like me who aren’t very athletic too much. My continuing CrossFit is on hold and I will update as soon as I can. Below is a photo of my good friend Deven wrapping my leg hoping the compression would help. It did for a while.
Aside from CrossFit I’ve been going to the gym very regularly with Deven. We’ve been holding each other accountable. I like that CrossFit is around the corner from my home. The gym is 20mins away. I’m hoping I can make BOTH work well for my fitness goals.
